Each year up to two transfer students are chosen who have made extraordinary contributions to The University of Alabama and/or to the community through their academic and extracurricular activities. Sponsored by the UA Chapter of Tau Sigma Honor Society.
Tau Sigma is a national honor society dedicated to recognizing the academic achievements of transfer students and helping them establish connections with The University of Alabama. Tau Sigma offers chances for leadership positions and opportunities for scholarships. In order to be eligible for Tau Sigma, a student must receive a 3.5 GPA their first semester at UA after transferring from another institution.
The University of Alabama established Premier Awards to recognize UA students, faculty, and staff who exemplify the highest standards of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Each of these awards honor the legacies of activists, academics, and individuals who made important intellectual and inspirational contributions to their communities.
