The Involvement Transcript is a combination of verified and self-reported documentation that lists activities students have participated in while enrolled at The University of Alabama.  Used along with a student’s resume, the co-curricular transcript provides additional depth into understanding the impact of involvement on a student’s experience at UA.  This document can be used to support student involvement and contributions made during their time in college.  Additionally, the is intended to complement the academic transcript by demonstrating the development of knowledge, as well as skills sought by employers and graduate degree programs.

What should be included in my Involvement Transcript?

The Involvement Transcript is a multi-layer document that contains the following components:

  • Leadership Activities – in any organization, activity, or program
  • Professional or Educational Development (Experiences) – participation in any involvement transcript learning experience i.e. workshops, training programs, or volunteer experiences- related to personal or professional development
  • Honors, Awards, and Recognitions for involvement – any type of formal recognition given to you as an individual or as a part of a group
  • Participation in Student Organizations – membership in any organization, club, activity, or program in which you are an engaged participant

Through involvement in co-curricular experiences, students gain transferable skills that can be applied to many areas outside of the college setting.  When coupled with your academic transcript and resume, a holistic picture of your contributions, interests, and abilities are portrayed.  Through the Involvement Transcript, you can also add Descriptions and Self-Reflections to your student involvement transcript.

What are the different categories that show up on my Involvement Transcript?

My SOURCE provides a template for the Involvement Transcript and the user adjusts the content and layout before generating the final transcript.  The “Change Layout” button allows the user to edit the order of categories and whether or not they are displayed.

The following text appears at the bottom of every “Official” Involvement Transcript:

This transcript is not valid without an official seal from The University of Alabama or authorized signature from the Office of Student Involvement in the Division of Student Life.  This Involvement Transcript is a self-reported official record of leadership accomplishments and involvement in student organizations, community service activities and professional /educational development programs. It is designed as a means of recognizing “out of class” learning, development, and contributions during a students’ college career.**

Below is information on the different categories of content that may be included on the involvement transcript.
