Safe Sisters

Safe Sisters consist of women from United Greek Council sororities, National Pan-Hellenic sororities, and Panhellenic sororities. Safe Sisters are trained by professional staff on issues of interpersonal violence to serve with a goal of promoting positive bystander behavior and building safe communities. Through training, peer educators in the Safe Sisters program will have a clear understanding of the dynamics of interpersonal violence and the resources available to address the issues. As a trusted member of her organization, the Safe Sister can serve as a uniquely positioned ally and resource within the chapter. The Safe Sister will function as the liaison for their chapter on the Safe Sister Council. The Safe Sister will implement mini-programs regarding the issues of healthy relationships and dating/domestic violence, sexual health and sexual assault, and stalking.

Close Date: early November
Requirements
Any student affiliated with a United Greek Council sorority, National Pan-Hellenic sorority, or Alabama Panhellenic Association sorority who has an interest in the WGRC mission and some experience with gender/social justice service or activism may apply.
