Women and Gender Resource Center’s Student Leadership Council

The Women and Gender Resource Center’s Student Leadership Council offers University of Alabama students the opportunity to hone and cultivate their leadership skills through rigorous volunteering opportunities. The Women and Gender Resource Center (WGRC) plans and implements several volunteer and leadership initiatives throughout each academic year. Students who are members of the Student Leadership Council (SLC) will be a vital participant in the promotion and execution of the WGRC’s mission to empower women and encourage their active and equal participation in the campus community. Applications will be reviewed at the beginning of Fall and Spring semesters.
Application Dates
Open: March (accepted on a rolling basis)
Close: August
Requirements
Any UA student who has an interest in the WGRC mission, ability to contribute 30+ hours/semester, and some experience with gender/social justice service or activism may apply.
The application process will require:
- Individual Interview
- Essay
Number of people selected: 8-15
