Young Men’s Leadership Program

The Young Men’s Leadership Program is a year-long mentoring program sponsored by The University of Alabama Women and Gender Resource Center (WGRC) that focuses on pairing young boys and men to explore the issues of self-identity and interpersonal relationships. The program focuses on leadership abilities by encouraging the participants to build on the core values of authenticity, respect and strength. After a semester of training, the student mentors will be paired with a local 5th grade boy.

Open Date: April
Close Date: Early September
Requirements
Any student who self identifies as a man and is willing to commit 20+ hours each semester for at least 1 academic year may apply.
The application process will require:
- Individual Interview
- Essay
Number of people selected: 15-20
