Young Women Leaders Program

The Young Women Leaders Program is a year long mentoring program sponsored by The University of Alabama Women and Gender Resource Center that focuses on promoting middle school girls’ leadership abilities by encouraging their competence, autonomy and connections with one another. After one semester of training, the student mentors will be paired with a middle school girl for weekly mentoring.

Application Dates

Open Date: April
Close Date: Early September

Requirements

Any student who self identifies as a woman and is willing to commit 20+ hours each semester for at least 1 academic year may apply.

The application process will require:

  • Individual Interview
  • Essay

Number of people selected: 15-20
